Johnny Bass, Board Treasurer – (Public Member, Appointed by Governor) Johnny Bass is the owner of Bass Business Solutions, where he provides business and financial consulting to multiple companies and Boards of Directors. He was born in Eastern North Carolina and served in the Navy. He attended Atlantic Christian College (now Barton College) and earned a BS degree in Accounting. He regularly provides testimony to the courts in cases of bankruptcy. Johnny is a member of the National Federation of Independent Businesses, and the NC Executive Roundtable.  He lives in Nash County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2026.


Flo Stein – (Public Member, Appointed by Governor) Flo Stein has over forty years of substance use disorder and addictions counseling policy experience. She recently retired as deputy director of Division of Mental Health Developmental Disabilities and Substance Abuse Services within N.C. Department of Health and Human Services. She has served on numerous state and national policy panels, including the National Advisory Council for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), which advises public health matters related to prevention, treatment, and recovery support services to the White House and HHS Secretary. She lives in Wake County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2026.


Anita Daniels – (SUD Professional, Appointed by Governor) Anita Daniels is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist. She is a founding member, Vice President, and Co-chair of the Pro Sports and Clinicians Committees of the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports. Daniels is also the owner and CEO of actualities limited, a private practice which she founded. She is also a certified forensic evaluator and certified NC Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Substance Abuse Evaluator. She lives in Durham County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2026.


Kendra Davis, Board Chair – (SUD Professional, Appointed by Governor) Kendra Davis is a graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a bachelor’s of Sociology and a Master of Rehabilitation Counseling. She also holds a Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry from the Apex School of Theology. She is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist, Certified Clinical Supervisor, and Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional. In addition to her work with the NC Department of Public Safety, she also owns and manages a private practice. She lives in Forsyth County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2026.


Michael McGuire – (SUD Professional, Appointed by Governor) Michael McGuire is employed by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Social Work as a Clinical Assistant Professor and the Director of the Substance Use and Addiction Specialty program.  He is licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS), and is a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). His areas of interest include adolescent and family development, problematic substance use, experiential learning, Service Members–Veteran–Families (SMVF), Motivational Interviewing, Feedback Informed Treatment, clinical supervision, implementation science, ethics, and workforce development. He lives in Guilford County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2024.


Kathy Allen, Board Secretary – (SUD Professional, Appointed by Speaker of NC House) Kathy is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with a bachelor’s degree in Business from Gardner-Webb University. She has been in private practice since 2010, with locations in Gastonia, Lincolnton, Shelby and Kings Mountain.  She is active in the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina (APNC). When Kathy is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family. She lives in Cleveland County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2024.


Glenn Buck, Jr. – (SUD Professional, Appointed by Speaker of NC House) Glenn Buck has a Bachelor of Social Work from North Carolina State University and MSW from ECU. He is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Certified Clinical Supervisor. He has been in the field for thirty years and is Chief Clinical Officer at PORT Health. He lives in Pitt County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2024.


Stephanie Robinson, Board Vice Chair – (SUD Professional, Appointed by NC Senate President Pro Tem) Robinson is an Assistant Professor in the UNC-Pembroke Department of Counseling. Stephanie earned her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, her Master of Science in Counseling from Loyola University New Orleans, and her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tulane University.  She lives in New Hanover County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2025


Nyi Myint – (SUD Professional, Appointed by NC Senate President Pro Tem) Nyi Myint Licensed is a Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist.  He is a retired military officer and has worked with the addiction community in various roles since 2013.  In addition, Mr. Myint has instructed at the UNC Addiction Certificate Program as well as presented at many conferences concerning Veterans issues. He lives in Orange County.  TERM EXPIRES: 6/30/2025.
