Renewal Information

What do I need to do to renew?

Each credential from the NCASPPB is valid for two years.

There are no extensions granted by the Board.

Once a credential has expired you are to cease using that credential until it is renewed/reinstated.

A late renewal is also known as a reinstatement. After 30 days of expiration, an additional $50 late fee is added to the $150 renewal fee.

A credential may be renewed following expiration within a period of five (5) years. After five years, a new application (including fees, testing, and hours) is required to get your credential back.

To renew, you must use the LearningBuilder credentialing software.

How much of my training can be online?

The quick answer is you may complete as much as you would like online.  You can do all online, all in-person, all webinars, or mix and match however you choose.”

What if my training is not NCASPPB pre-approved?

The NCASPPB does not require pre-approval to accept training earned by a professional for renewal. However, it can expedite approval of your renewal. Additionally, a training approval request is meant to only be completed by a training provider, not an attendee.

The NCASPPB honors all trainings provided or approved by our Deemed Status Organizations, IC&RC Boards, NAADAC affiliated boards, and regionally accredited colleges, universities and our community college system.

If you are completing your renewal and your certificate doesn’t have a code, just mark it “N/A.” If we have questions when approving the renewal or need additional information, we will contact you.
